When you’re a freelance writer, amateur farmer and mum with an insatiable curiosity for life, there’s not a lot of time left in the day for dilly-dallying about. There are goats to be fed, trees to be pruned, bread to be baked, bums to be wiped and words burning to be written.

Good thing I take a certain competitive pride in the callouses on my hands and the writing notches on my belt.

Don’t let the serene pastoral landscapes fool you. Running a farm is all about how fast you can run. Good thing I have a history of moving fast, getting resourceful and grabbing great ideas by the horns. Because when I’m onto something great, there’s no time for dilly-dallying about. There’s just running at it with everything I’ve got.
